About Rover

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by space, which inspired me to base this 12-week assignment on NASA’s Curiosity Mars Rover.

At first, I envisioned a large-scale space exploration game featuring aliens and complex mechanics. However, as I was developing this project solo, I refined the scope to focus on perfecting the rover’s core functionality.

I designed the 3D model of the rover in 3DS Max, using real-world reference images to ensure accuracy. Over the course of the project, I successfully implemented the rover’s mechanics, including movement, controls, and an animated drill cutscene.

By the end of the 12 weeks, the game was fully playable on PlayStation using the PS4 dev kit provided by the university.
